- In this demonstration, you’ll see how the SAP Portfolio and Project Management application supports enterprise-wide project monitoring and reporting.
- By providing end-to-end support—from the executive suite all the way down to the project manager’s desktop and back—
- this integrated approach helps you plan, build, and commission your capital assets in a transparent, timely, and cost-efficient manner.
- Reviewing costs across the portfolio.
- Previously, we saw how Alan Hauser, Vice President of Portfolio Management at ABC Energy,
- used the SAP Portfolio and Project Management application to plan and review proposals for a number of strategic initiatives.
- He then used the software to create a project that other ABC employees used to manage the project on the ground in Sao Paulo.
- We then saw how project updates captured in Primavera P6 could be synchronized with the project system integrated into SAP Portfolio and Project Management application
- using the SAP Enterprise Project Connection application, ensuring that data from the field could be tracked and analyzed within Alan Hauser’s portfolio management organization.
- That synchronization back into the portfolio and project management application is critical, because Alan Hauser’s responsibilities include all of ABC’s strategic projects.
- He needs to monitor expenditures at the strategic initiative level, so he needs to look at costs from a number of projects simultaneously.
- Because the SAP Portfolio and Project Management application enables him to manage entire portfolios of projects,
- he can easily see the state of each initiative at any time—and from multiple points of view.
- Here, he’s looking at the bucket of initiatives designed to increase production volume and comparing planned against actual costs.
- He can drill down into more and more granular levels of detail if he needs to.
- Alan can also take advantage of real-time analytics that can provide powerful insights into project performance.
- Here Alan can see a graphic comparison of planned vs. actual costs for all the projects in the energy generation portfolio.
- These charts can be customized, too, to meet the needs of individuals and teams within ABC—
- for they’re all built using the SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards software and presented through the portfolio and project management application.
- As you have seen, the SAP Portfolio and Project Management application provides support for enterprise-wide project monitoring and reporting.
- It’s all part of part of a broad, integrated vision from SAP for aligning your capital projects with company strategy
- and managing your capital projects from the board room to the building site and back.
