    • submit a trip request, get approval for a trip request, and receive an approval confirmation.
    • David works for a company that uses SAP Travel OnDemand.
    • He wants to attend a professional conference, so he calls his travel agent, who estimates it will cost around $1,000.
    • David speaks to his manager, Nick, and gets a verbal approval for the trip.
    • Then he asks his travel agent to send him a rough estimate for the travel expense by e mail.
    • Once David receives the e-mail from the travel agent,
    • he goes to his home page on SAP Travel OnDemand where he can see a list of all his open travel requests, travel plans, and expense reports.
    • David goes ahead and creates a new travel request.
    • He enters the purpose, trip dates, location, estimated costs, and a comment about his conversation with Nick.
    • He submits the form and sees that his travel request is pending.
    • David's manager Nick receives an e-mail on his smartphone with David's travel request.
    • He remembers that David talked with him about the conference, so he approves the travel request right away.
    • Then, David gets an e-mail confirming that Nick has approved his trip.
    • David is now ready to book his trip.
    • He opens his approved travel request in SAP Travel OnDemand, and selects "Book Trip" so he can log into the online booking tool and make reservations.
    • SAP Travel OnDemand is fully integrated with the SAP ERP application, so travel expenses are reflected and processed in back-end software.
