    • In this set of demonstrations, you'll see how the SAP Enterprise Asset Management solution and other integrated software from SAP allows you to
    • review asset performance and plan repair work, manage stocks and issue materials, and empower vendors to communicate about services performed.
    • Enabling you to manage assets so you can balance asset cost-to-run and cost–to-maintain, balance performance and productivity, and improve continual operation and profitability.
    • Review asset performance and plan repair work. Mark Stephen is a maintenance planner at a utility company that uses SAP software.
    • He is reviewing asset performance at his plant. He can drill down into the performance criteria to see which assets are performing the worst and which assets need immediate maintenance.
    • In the dashboard, he sees that overall asset availability is OK for the entire corporation and for the Washington plant.
    • But the key performance indicator – KPI – for maintenance cost analysis shows that this area is performing badly.
    • Mark performs an "A-B-C" analysis to classify the values in order of importance, and sees that the bulk of the problems are due to a faulty pump.
    • He creates a notification for a maintenance request in back-end software. After reviewing the damage analysis, Mark decides to do some repair work, so he creates a maintenance work order.
    • He can leverage predefined job plans − or task lists – to help him create the work order.
    • The company's internal resources are currently overloaded, so Mark needs to hire an external supplier to perform the work. He also needs to request some parts for this job.
    • Since the solution is integrated, Mark has full visibility into the entire job – including external services and materials.
    • The requisition for services is generated automatically from the work order so he doesn't have to take any extra steps to initiate the procurement process.
    • From here, Mark can see the services requested for this job, as well as the vendor and contract details.
    • The software automatically shows materials reservations and the need for replenishment based on the existing quantities.
    • Mark checks materials availability and sees that there is a shortage, but he knows that replenishment will be handled at a later stage.
    • Now that order planning is complete, he can release the job. He can print the work order to send it to the worker electronically, to a mobile device, or as a hard copy.
    • Once the work order is printed, the job status will appear as "transferred to job list," and will show up in the maintenance worker's job list.
    • Manage stocks and issue materials.
    • Shelly Thomas, a materials planner at the utility, is reviewing materials replenishment.
    • SAP software is integrated, so a purchase order is generated automatically for materials and service requirements.
    • Once materials are received, Shelly can issue them against the order reservation. She enters the part number for the materials requested.
    • Here, she reviews the supply and demand for the part, and sees the materials reservation.
    • While the replenishment logic usually runs automatically, in this case, Shelly decides to process this request manually.
    • She sees that a requisition was generated and decides to run a purchase order.
    • Now she can see that the purchase order for the materials has been issued with terms that are filled in automatically based on the utility's contract.
    • The software also created a requisition for the services automatically when the work order was created.
    • Once the material comes in, in just a few steps Shelly creates a goods receipt and posts it to the purchase order.
    • She creates a material-goods issue order and posts that as well.
    • Empower vendors to communicate about services performed .
    • John Hastings is a customer service rep at the utility's vendor.
    • In the supplier portal, he receives the purchase order from the utility and can now respond and confirm that his company will provide the services requested.
    • He can also enter the services his company has provided. John can review the details of the purchase order, such as pricing, hours, and so on.
    • From the portal, he can accept the order or make changes, as permitted. John confirms the order, and his company is now ready to perform the work.
    • Once his company has performed the work, he can enter that information in the portal. John now enters the number of hours worked for this job.
    • The solution shows that the entries have been accepted, and John logs off. As you have seen, with integrated software from SAP, you can review asset performance and plan repair work,
