    • Ron Herman is a procurement manager for G2 Manufacturing Corporation, a company that uses SAP Supplier InfoNet.
    • Ron logs in to see which alerts he has received about his suppliers so he can take appropriate action to manage any issues.
    • The solution provides alerts focused on key performance indicators – or KPIs − predictive KPIs, news events, government data, and more.
    • Ron reviews a KPI alert for PAC Wireless, which was triggered when the KPI value met the threshold criteria that he established when he first started using the solution.
    • He also sees that the current KPI value falls outside what is typically their normal behavior.
    • This indicates a significant deviation from the historical performance of this supplier: it is cause for concern.
    • The issue requires more attention, so Ron flags the alert for follow up.
    • The solution also generates predictive alerts to any potential in supplier performance degradation that may occur in the near future.
    • These predictions are generated using advanced machine learning and pattern recognition techniques.
    • Ron views a predictive alert indicating that the on-time delivery performance of PAC Wireless is expected to deteriorate from 80% to a range of 50% to 60% in the next four months.
    • He needs to follow up on this further, so he flags the alert.
    • SAP Supplier InfoNet has a news alert engine that scans thousands of news sources and identifies significant events about your company’s suppliers such as bankruptcy, litigation, supply disruption, leadership change, and so on.
    • Ron reads a news alert about the impact of a recent storm on the manufacturing plant of one of his suppliers.
    • SAP Supplier InfoNet provides many types of alerts to help you proactively identify supplier performance issues.
    • Benchmark supplier performance against other suppliers in the business network.
    • Ron wants more insight into the performance of PAC Wireless, so he selects an alert that he flagged earlier.
    • SAP Supplier InfoNet collects, aggregates, and anonymizes supplier performance data from multiple participants in a business network so you can view performance benchmarks on suppliers.
    • Ron clicks on “Analyze Alert” and sees performance benchmarks for operational KPIs for PAC Wireless.
    • The benchmark chart shows how well PAC Wireless is performing for Ron’s company compared to its performance for other customers in the SAP Network.
    • Here we see an example of benchmarks for the KPI of Lot Acceptance Rate − LAR.
    • While the supplier’s performance for Ron’s company is not stellar, its performance for other customers is slightly worse.
    • Ron can also view the time-trend line of PAC Wireless’s performance for his company, and for the SAP network, to understand the supplier’s performance over time.
    • Now, Ron wants to view details for the predictive alert for on-time delivery that he flagged earlier, so he selects the alert and clicks on “Analyze Alert.”
    • Here, he can view the benchmark information for on time delivery, and the time trend lines.
    • He sees that the on-time delivery performance of PAC Wireless for his and other companies was consistent until October 2011, when it started to deteriorate.
    • Ron is concerned about this trend and wants to view the predicted decline in performance.
    • He selects the checkbox to display the expected decline in performance over the next few months.
    • He can gain more details on the factors contributing to this prediction by clicking on “Prediction Details.”
    • Ron sees that the predicted decline in on-time delivery is due both to problems that suppliers of PAC Wireless are facing and to the shift of production activities to a new plant.
    • In this way, SAP Supplier InfoNet provides you with performance benchmarks for your suppliers, which can then be used to improve their performance.
    • Identify and manage risks in your global supply chain, providing visibility into the subtier.
    • Ron wants to monitor issues and risks in his supply base so that he can take proactive actions to mitigate them.
    • SAP Supplier InfoNet uses social networking concepts to help you identify issues and risks embedded in a multitier supply base.
    • Looking at the network view, Ron checks his tier-1 supply base.
    • Ron also sees the number of alerts generated against specific tier-1 suppliers.
    • Part of the reason PAC Wireless’s performance was predicted to deteriorate was due to a subtier issue.
    • Now, Ron wants to see any issues or alerts generated on tier-2 suppliers that work with PAC Wireless, so he clicks on the plus sign.
    • He sees some information about the tier-2 group, but cannot see their names, locations, and other details as they are direct suppliers of PAC Wireless and not Ron’s company.
    • Ron sees there are alerts for some of the suppliers and he wants to know if they pose any potential risk to his operations.
    • To learn more, Ron sends a request to PAC Wireless asking for access to information on its suppliers.
    • Once PAC Wireless grants access, Ron can see the details for the tier-2 suppliers.
    • He sees three alerts for PCD Electronics and notices that there is a debarment action against it.
    • Ron can access the supplier profile of PCD Electronics to view details about the alerts and take any necessary steps to mitigate potential risks.
    • In this way, SAP Supplier InfoNet provides users with a multitier view of issues and risks in the supply base.
    • As you have seen, SAP Supplier InfoNet can help your organization
    • Proactively identify supplier performance issues,
    • Benchmark supplier performance against other suppliers in a business network, and Identify and manage risks in your global supply chain, providing visibility into the subtier so you can reduce the cost of managing your supply base.
