Business Objects Extends Scalability and Flexibility of BusinessObjects Data Integrator

New Version of Data Integrator Provides Enhanced Data Source and Database Options

SAN JOSE, Calif. & PARIS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ) (Euronext Paris ISIN code: FR0004026250 - BOB), the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced the launch of BusinessObjects™ Data Integrator XI Release 2 Version 11.7.2. This updated version of Data Integrator, already a highly productive and scalable data integration platform for BI, provides customers with additional deployment options and increased scalability. The new version is available today for electronic download from Business Objects, and is expected to be generally available by the end of the month.

"Business Objects is committed to delivering the industry's most robust and powerful information management solutions," said Pascal Clement, vice president of enterprise information management (EIM) at Business Objects. "With this new version of Data Integrator, we continue to raise the bar by enabling organizations to more easily explore, extract, transform, and deliver data anywhere, so end users have information at their fingertips that is accurate, timely, and trustworthy."

Data Integrator is part of the company's broader EIM solution set, which also includes data quality and metadata and lifecycle management products. Business Objects continues to see strong customer momentum and industry recognition for its EIM solutions.

Extending the Scalability and Flexibility of Data Integrator

The new version of BusinessObjects Data Integrator expands and extends the platforms and data sources available for the solution. Specific enhancements in Data Integrator XI Release 2 Version 11.7.2 include:

  • Extends the innovations recently launched in Version 11.7 to UNIX and Linux platforms
  • Expands support of 64-bit operating systems for Solaris and AIX by providing a native 64-bit version of Data Integrator on these platforms
  • Improved support for Netezza and MySQL
  • Tight integration with BusinessObjects Data Federator

In addition, Business Objects has proactively removed the one discrete feature that is at the center of an ongoing patent lawsuit filed by Informatica. The lawsuit specifically targets embedded data flows with one input and one output. Embedded data flows with only one input or only one output port are still supported by this version of Data Integrator.
