June 10, 2009 – SAP has been awarded the prestigious IBM Beacon Award in the category of Outstanding Enterprise Application Solution by an ISV. The IBM Beacon Awards recognize the best solutions that IBM business partners deliver across IBM's business and around the world. Winners of these distinguished awards set the standard for business excellence, unique and innovative solutions, ingenuity, and customer satisfaction.

The win comprises the collaboration between SAP and IBM that generated numerous innovative solutions, in addition to the hundreds of successful deployments of SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator software on IBM blades. SAP's nomination included Nestlé as a joint customer reference. Nestlé operates one of the largest implementations of the SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse component in the world and drastically improved the performance of queries with the component running on IBM.

SAP and IBM also collaborated on the Project Jupiter performance study, demonstrating the ability of SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator to meet the needs of customer data today and in the future. The environment simulated a customer deployment that consisted of 140 IBM blades, corresponding to 2.2 terabytes of main memory.
