SAP Hungary Deemed Best Workplace for Women
June 4, 2009 – SAP Hungary now joins SAP Mexico as a "Best Workplace for Women." The contest, Best Workplace for Women 2008, was organized by The Association for Women's Career Development in Hungary. First prize, shared with another company, came in the category of companies with more than 250 employees.
The contest highlights the economic necessity for employing women and awards best corporate practices in terms of workforce diversity. Applicants for the Best Workplace for Women Award are assessed according to the following criteria: fair working arrangements, career opportunities and promotion, health and well-being care, skills development opportunities, and work and life balance.
Balázs Ablonczy, managing director of SAP Hungary Ltd,. accepted the award during a ceremony in the Hungarian Parliament.
"This award clearly shows that women play a very significant role in the IT industry because they are contributing to its long-term sustainability," said Ablonczy. "It is a confirmation that everybody is treated equally."
