SAP Creates New Business Intelligence Solution for Defense Organizations

SAP NEWSBYTE - November 23, 2009 - In today’s fast-paced world defense organizations must be ready to executive a wider variety of missions than ever before, including humanitarian, assistance, disaster recovery, peace-keeping or even a full range of combat engagements. Quite often these missions take place in dynamic, international environments and are carried out by multinational coalition forces. To help defense organizations manage and sustain their resources — even when this information is scattered across disparate databases and systems — SAP has developed a preconfigured set of business intelligence solutions from the SAP® BusinessObjects™ portfolio for rapid readiness assessment.

The software for readiness assessment helps defense organizations to measure and obtain operational readiness information by leveraging a single, preconfigured, integrated view from disparate data sources. The software integrates information from many sources, helping service force planners, commanders and force providers maintain a timely, accurate global view of available resources and their readiness. In doing so, the software can contribute to improving each unit’s level of readiness to meet the full spectrum of threats and requirements for support. Due to the integration with geographic information system solutions such as those from SAP partner ESRI, the solution can also visualize analytical information on a plan or map.
