SAP Continues Investment in Solution for Waste and Recycling Industry

SAP NEWSBYTE - November 18, 2009 - Over the next five years, SAP plans to continue its investment in the industry solution for the waste and recycling industry, the SAPĀ® Waste and Recycling application. For this purpose, the Walldorf-based software company will intensify the collaboration with its solution partner PROLOGA GmbH.

Both companies will enhance the existing solution to better support industry-specific financial, logistical, and materials management processes. These processes are affected heavily by the continuous change within the industry. SAP adapts its solution to cope with new requirements and to further strengthen its leading position in this industry.

The waste and recycling industry continues to evolve from the pure collection of used materials to material processing and primary materials production. Tighter environmental regulations and the globalization of the transportation industry, along with the markets for raw materials, lead to more complex business processes in the waste and recycling industry, as well as to a challenging competitive environment. The need for appropriate IT solutions is a logical consequence of this evolution. With its continued investment in its industry solution, SAP intends to secure software solutions that help waste and recycling companies to successfully manage change and to grow in new business areas.
