Paula Creamer

Paula Creamer continues to play successfully in 16 tournaments around the world to date – placing within the top 10 in 8 tournaments.

Paula Ties for Third Place at the RICOH Women's British Open

Paula's strong performance showed as the week progressed at the RICOH Women's British Open, where she successfully came back from round two, after being 5-under par. She fought back with a series of birdies in rounds three (5 birdies) and four (4 birdies).

Paula tied third with Ai Miyazato, Hee-Won Han, and Christian Kim, at 1-over par. Catriona Matthew of Scotland won the trophy with a 3-stroke lead (3-under) over Karrie Webb (level).

Previously, Paula performed strongly at the Sybase Classic. Paula carded rounds of 66-72-65-65, to tie second with Soo-Yun Kang – both trailing champion Yani Tseng at the LPGA Corning Classic. Creamer sank a 60-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to achieve 20-under-par 268.

Regaining confidence following months of illness, Paula, as newly ranked number three worldwide, looks forward to continue playing well in three upcoming, major championships.

After kick-starting 2009 with her third Paula Creamer Celebrity Classic – which raised over $200,000 for First Tee Sarasota/Manatee, Paula gained two third-place finishes at the Honda LPGA Thailand
(-10) and the HSBC Women's Championship, Singapore (-8).

Following an exceptional junior amateur career, Paula first gained global recognition by finishing 13th in the U.S. Women's Open in 2004 as a teenager. She then achieved second place at the LPGA Tour's ShopRite Classic while still an amateur. Paula went on to play 10 LPGA tour tournaments as an amateur in 2003 and 2004, finishing inside the top 20 in five of those tournaments.

Turning pro in 2005, Paula's first win occurred at the Sybase Classic, four days before graduating from high school. Creamer was 18 years old at the time, making her the third-youngest winner in LPGA history, and she won twice more that year. Despite having just one year to accumulate points, Paula easily qualified for the U.S. Solheim Cup team, and led the team to victory – earning the most points for the Americans with a 3-1-1 record. Additionally posting 11 top tens, and finishing second on the money list, Paula Creamer was named LPGA's top rookie of 2005. She has collected 10 professional titles and remains in the world's top 10 since 2006.

In addition, Paula started the scholarship program, Paula 4 Kids in 2005 and the Paula Creamer Celebrity Classic in 2007, in support of First Tee (an initiative of the World Golf Foundation), which provides learning facilities and educational programs promoting character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
