Ph.D. Programs

Candidates interested in writing a dissertation in an industrial, "real-life" research setting find ideal conditions at SAP Research in Europe. The breadth of international projects and topics offers a wide range of opportunities for a doctoral thesis. This is why SAP Research established a dedicated Ph.D. framework in close collaboration with several European universities. The envisaged timeframe to complete the dissertation is three years. During this period, candidates are assigned to a challenging project within one of SAP's research programs. SAP Research Americas offers a graduate internship program for Ph.D. students who wish to gain industry experience during your time as Ph.D. candidates.

Graduate Internship Program at SAP Research Americas

Graduate internship program students have the opportunity to learn about conducting applied research in the enterprise computing space by maintaining an extended relationship with the SAP Research team during your course of study. Students engage in new and ongoing research projects with the SAP Research team in Palo Alto, California, during a series of six-month internships for each Ph.D. year.

Recent topics include RFID and sensor technologies, distributed data management, networking, advanced Web technologies, and service-oriented architecture. To find the best fit between students and the research team, we encourage students to provide a brief description of topics that are relevant to your own research.

For more information about our specific areas of research, please contact our HR recruiting consultant Ruth Embaie.
