Research Environment – Working with World-Class Researchers
CEC Pretoria followed three years of active research involvement in the South African education and training sector, aiming to develop learning and technology models for e-learning and blended learning. The main purpose of the research was to determine how technology could be utilized to make education and training more accessible to individuals previously deprived of such opportunities.
CEC Pretoria, with its partners, has identified five applied research projects focused on developing new technology solutions for real life situations, taking into consideration the unique needs of an emerging economy. The main endeavor of these projects is the access devices to information, affordable and alternative communication infrastructures, and appropriate, easy to use, and inexpensive software based on relevant business processes. The applied research projects concentrate on education, health, civil society, agricultural, and government sectors.
