SAP Research Groups

SAP Research Group Bangalore, India

BangaloreSAP Research Group Bangalore was established in July 2009 and is co-located with SAP Labs India.

India is one of SAP's key markets and, with its stellar development over the years, an ever-growing number of world-leading enterprises, and a long tradition of academic excellence, offers a wealth of opportunities for innovation.

Initial Themes for Bangalore

The researchers in Bangalore are focusing mostly on topics in the areas of:

  • Decision support systems, with a focus on text understanding
  • Service infrastructures for service analytics, continuous analytics, and the Internet of Services mobile
  • Web data quality

The team is also interested in technologies that cut across various verticals, including performance optimization; in-memory analytics using GPUs; and multicore processors, user experience, and social networking. Additional areas of interest are in the healthcare, e-governance, and education industries.

Relationships with highly-reputed Indian universities have already been established through the first SAP Research & Innovation Award India, conducted in 2008, and the SAP BusinessObjects Academic Research Center (ARC). Interactions with the academic partners are ongoing and will be further enhanced through collaborative projects.
